Meet unique and enlightened individuals as we hike this 88 acre island that takes us back in time to when the D.C. area was a marsh and series of canals and waterways. We will trek over trails and boardwalks as we admire the monuments.

About the event
We will begin with a meet and greet ice-breaker to fill out name tags and pass out snacks and bottled water. Then we will begin our adventure hike to step back in time to see what D.C. was like before it was developed by architects. Theodore Roosevelt Island in D.C. offers an easy loop known as the Swamp Trail, featuring a mix of boardwalks and gravel paths through woods, cattail marshes, and along the Potomac River. This 88-acre nature preserve includes a 17-foot statue in a central plaza and provides scenic, quiet views of Georgetown.
